Blake and Gwen Pick Purple Irises Super Bowl Sunday
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are dueting it again.
On Friday, our favorite power couple released their latest collaboration, Purple Irises and are set to launch the live debut of the track this weekend at the Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate Event in Las Vegas.
For the press release photo-shoot Blake chose the GD51-BSB from Takamine’s popular G series.
It was the warm, vintage look of the non-cutaway dreadnought sunburst that initially attracted Blake to the model, but the bold tone of the solid-spruce top and black walnut back-and-sided beauty that convinced Blake to take the guitar home.
The GD51-BSB was also slated as Blake’s go-to for Sunday’s TicTok performance with Gwen, but somehow didn’t make it out of the house. So, we’ll all find out together which of his Taks he plays instead.
It’s always a treat to hear new music from this crazy-talented, charismatic couple and particularly satisfying to be invited along for the ride.
Blake Shelton has been a dedicated Takamine player since purchasing an EF341SC at age 16 from a music store in his hometown of Ada, Oklahoma.
